Queen Of Swords is the new project from Aerin Fogel, who played previously in The Bitters with Ben Cook (Fucked Up/Young Guv/Bad Actors Records etc). The Bitters released records with Captured Tracks, Mexican Summer, Sacred Bones, and Release The Bats, and had a period of touring and festival appearances including SXSW, NXNE, and Woodsist/Captured Tracks Fest.

The debut Queen Of Swords LP was recently recorded and co-produced by Bobb Bruno (Best Coast) and is being released September 15th 2017. Sweeping melodies and driving undertones make up a complex mixture of dark dream pop and old school rock n’ roll. The first single, “Rise Instead,” premiered on Gorilla Vs Bear and was warmly received through a series of subsequent indie sites and blogs. A video for “Rise Instead” premiered in July with Clash Magazine, and was followed by Billboard premiering the next single, ""Family Ties."" Queen Of Swords has quickly gained attention in Toronto’s live scene as a duo of Fogel and synth player Kritty Uranowski, and will be playing POP Montreal this September to mark the album release.

Fogel is also the creator of Toronto’s first Venus Fest, a feminist music festival set for September 30th featuring bands like Grouper, Emel Mathlouthi, Weaves, DIANA, Lido Pimienta, and more, including Queen Of Swords.
